New Laptop: 17" MacBook Pro

New Laptop: 17" MacBook Pro

After selling my trusty 12.1" Toshiba Portege R200 to a mate, I needed to replace it.. unfortunatly the Apple MacBook Pro 17" was just TOO tempting.

Screen: Glossy 1920x1200
CPU: Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz
HDD: 160GB 7200RPM

Trying to find an appropriate name is always difficult. My theme is cars, some other computer names I use or have used are: Jaguar, Maserati, Vanquish, Vantage, Sagarus, Vito, Mini, Tuscan and Stingray. I have settled on the name Koenigsegg for this computer. Koenigsegg CCX isn't a small car, but is sleek and stylish, just like my MacBook Pro.

Church Snow Trip 2007

Dave and Andy

This week has been one amazing experience. Pictured here with my mate Andy at the bottom of Mount Hotham's summit run.

After leaving Adelaide at about 11:15pm on Saturday night, we travelled through until about 3pm on Sunday to get to Mount Hotham.

Settled in, most of the others went to get their hire gear organised while I visited "The Freezer" which, I'm told, is the best snowboard shop on the mountain. My birthday present to myself this year is to complete my snowboard setup with a board and bindings.

Mark fitted me out with a Burton Elite 151 board and Mission bindings, which I then managed to negotiate him to 15% off. (I love that bit!)

My first day boarding was good, the new setup made a huge difference over the hired equipment I had at Whistler in March.

On Wednesday I tackled my first Intermediate run. This was my best day so far.

Thursday and Friday were unpleasent. The foot pain that I had the last couple of days at Whistler have returned and it is unbearable.

Friday particularly was not good as I did Frosty's Drop (Intermediate run) and Davenport Access. Finally managed to overcome some of the pain only to be hit at high speed from behind by a skiier. I was knocked sensless a little and by the time I actually could get to my feet again, they'd buggered off.

I tried to continue with my lesson today but the injury caused by the skiier was too much.

I'm about 2 hours off leaving Hotham and going to spend it with my feet up watching cartoons.

Many more photos can be found here.

My Lotus Elise and My Birthday

My Lotus Elise
Originally uploaded by TheScream.

Today, I am 30 years old. I have had a great party, caught up with some old mates I haven't seen for a while and done something never before by anyone I know of... started a car inside our church. :)

At my 30th birthday I wanted to exhibit my passions. One of my passions is my new car, a 1998 Lotus Elise. This was taken before the masses arrived.

This is the first good photo of my car, the weather has been so bad, there haven't been any opportunities to take good ones until now.

Other things at my birthday were a mini-InLAN, xbox 360, a couple of bands, roast lamb and beef for dinner and pancakes for dessert.

The final attendance was about 120 people. I love having friends!
