Comet McNauight

I received this email from a friend regarding the McNaught comet that is currently passing close to Earth.

I set up the scope in a position that resulted in the scope looking through a tree when the comet became visible in the sky, this did not help. In addition I left my ASA on the camera on 3200 from last night, which resulted in some additional noise. However apart from all this there is still some reasonable pictures, I may get them a little better once I process them with a little more care. I include the good and the bad. I think I have set the black level wrong again on all these photos, my monitor has the brightness turned down, which results in me not setting the black level right, however its to late at night for me to correct this now, so please forgive !

All in all I have not had good luck the last couple of nights, with dropping my camera last night and the things that went wrong to-night. All things that I had control of but messed up in the rush !

May give it one more go tomorrow, conditions permitting, I guess we have been fairly lucky with the weather the last couple of nights so I am not complaining.

I don't believe I just did that. I finished it, only leaving bone, gristle and fat and I feel very very full.

This was one of the best steaks I have ever had and for the first time, I was not left wanting more. I hope I don't regret this tomorrow.

But, boy do I feel satisfied.

*ahhhhh*

The wonderful people at the Argentinean Bar and Grill were nice enough to put the bones from my steak (and a couple of other people who couldn't finish all their meat) in a bag for me to give to my dog Sebastian. When I got home, he could smell it all over me, I don't think I've ever seen him so excited before.. then again, I don't think he's ever eaten steak this expensive.

At the Argentinian Bar and Grill (previously known as Norberto's), they are legendary for their steak, the biggest of which is a 1KG (2lb.) T-Bone.

How could I pass over a challenge such as this. When it arrived, it was like the whole world had shrunk and was consumed by the gravitational pull of this slab of meat over an inch thick.

LOOK FOR CARS BEFORE OVERTAKING!

The pictured blue Ford Falcon XR6 came within an inch of causing a fatal car crash at 100km/h (over 60mph).

I was driving my mum's Mini Cooper S on the way back from Goolwa on the south coast of South Australia and was stuck behind a black Volvo and this Ford. I executed an overtaking manouver and was just up to this Ford's B-Pillar when they decided to overtake the volvo as well...
SWERVE-HORN-BRAKE... Two wheels hit the gravel on the opposite side of the road, my instincts from my time racing go-karts kicks in and I manage to maintain control enough to get back onto the bitumen and avoid a metal barrier blocking vehicles from flying into a drain.

After a moment I realise I'm safe again and back behind the Volvo doing 70km/h. A couple of moments to allow the adreneline to begin to dissapate... A prayer to thank God that I was alive...

Please, when you are driving, don't assume, don't do things which other drivers will find unexpected, be kind on the road.

It seems that the Port Elliot Bakery is so good, people will tolerate a significant queue to obtain such delectables.

I had a Potato pie and a chocolate donut, both of which were so good, attempting to describe it here would be an insult.
